What a perfect setting for a wedding. This enquiry began back in May last year when Shannon & Greg mentioned that they were getting married in Cancun in passing, to which I jokingly uttered ‘oh hey, you can fly me out (cheeky wink)… to my surprise they turned to each other and in unison said.. ‘erm well actually, we could… we’ll be in touch!’
A cheeky and ambitious wink can get you far in life.
It was an absolute whirlwind trip – I flew out on the Monday morning (ish) – after a two hour flight delay and then flew back home on the Thursday evening. It was my first time in Mexico but after this little trip certainly not my last! I cannot wait to head back and explore so much more in my own time!
I had genuinely such a great time with these two couples (Shannon, Greg, Harriet and James). Fresh off the plane when I was shattered from a 11 hour plus journey they were all very welcoming and they made me feel like a mate (a 5th wheeling mate) the entire time rather than someone they had hired. It was such a fantastic experience with two couples who are both clearly perfect for each other.
The day began with us three boys pushing hired tiny golf carts out to there absolute limits and finished with a perfect first dance and some half drunken shape shifting in front of a typically rowdy American audience. All the little parts of the day – tripping over ‘SARNCASTLES’ and wheeling golf carts made this wedding spectacularly unique. Unique setting, unique people. It was an absolute joy to be a part of this big day – a fantastic experience. Shannon & Greg, you are both fantastic people and I wish you the absolute the best for your future together! See you guys in July 😉
